1.it is only for samsung? plugs also laptop or other?
Answer: it can fit any notebook or pc as plugs and this cable is intended for 2.5" drives only. 3.5"/5.25" drives are not supported
2.Wouldn't I need a power supply to the hard drive or does the adapter work without it?
Answer:For the hard driver 2.5'', it will work without any issue. For the hard driver 3.5'', it doesn't work. The 2.5 drives only use a 5V power rail, which is why this works on them. 3.5 drives have a 12V power rail, along with the 5V power rail.
